Summary: PDFiles is built with a "Privacy by Design" approach. All document scanning, text recognition (OCR), PDF editing, and file conversions are performed 100% locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your documents, images, or extracted text to any external servers or cloud services.

1. Information We Process

PDFiles requires access to specific device features strictly to provide its core functionalities:

Camera Access: Used exclusively to capture document scans or photos. Images are processed and stored only in your device's local memory/cache.
Photos / Storage Access: Used to import existing images or PDF files from your gallery/file manager and to save your exported PDF and Word (.docx) documents.
Text Recognition (OCR): When you use the OCR feature, the app extracts text from your images. This process happens entirely on-device; the extracted text never leaves your phone unless you explicitly copy or share it.

2. Data Handling and Storage

Your files remain under your total control. Our application does not maintain any remote databases, user accounts, or background analytics that track or upload your personal content.

3. Third-Party Services

The app leverages trusted Google Play Services for on-device machine learning tasks:

4. User-Initiated Data Sharing

PDFiles allows you to export and share your documents (PDF and Word formats) to other applications (like WhatsApp, Gmail, or Slack) only when you explicitly trigger the "Share" action. This data transfer is handled securely by the Android operating system.

Our app does not collect any personal data, making it safe for all users, including children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13.

By keeping all processing local, your documents are protected by your device's own security features (biometrics, encryption, etc.) and are never exposed to the risks associated with cloud transmission.
